Genetic Engineering Making changes to the DNA that makes changes to the organism
Recombinant DNA taking part of the DNA from one organism and putting it in the DNA of another organism
Gene therapy placing normal genes in an organism to fix a disorder
Restriction Enzymes Proteins used to cut DNA into different pieces
Genome The total number of genes in an organism
Human Genome Project The project that found there are about 35,000 genes in the human population
Somatic cell Body cell with a full set of chromosomes
Clone Identical copy of an organism
Gel electrophoresis Using gel & electricity to separate DNA
Agarose The gel used in gel electrophoresis
