QuestionAnswer
Breathing the movement of the chest that brings air into the lungs & removes waste gases.
Respiration when oxygen is brought into the cells and burned to release energy.
Nostrils openings where air enters the body
Pharynx the back of your throat where food, liquid & air pass through.
Epiglottis flap that prevents food/liquid from entering your trachea.
Larynx the voice box, that creates vibrations producing sounds.
Trachea long tube surrounded by rings of cartilage that connects the larynx & bronchi.
Bronchi two tubes that branch off of the trachea to each of the lungs
Bronchioles smallest of tubes in the lungs
Alveoli clusters of sacs surrounded by capillaries that exchange oxygen & carbon dioxide
Diaphragm muscle under your lungs that contracts & relaxes allowing air to move in & out of the lungs.
