| Law of dominance | states that some alleles are dominant and others are recessive |
| Law of segreation | alleles separate during gamete formation (meiosis) |
| Codominance | both alleles are dominant |
| Incomplete Dominance | neither allele is dominant |
| sex-linked genes | genes located on the X and Y chromosomes |
| pedigree | a chart showing the inheritance of a single trait over many generations |
| antigen | protein markers on the surface of red blood cells |
| antibody | protein that attaches to a specific antigen and marks the RBC for destruction |
| Universal donor | con donate blood to all blood types (type O) |
| Universal recipient | can receive blood from all blood types (type AB) |
| agglutination | clumping (of red blood cells) |
