| Proteins | control the speed of reactions and regulate cell processes, build tissues, transport materials, or help to fight disease. |
| Nucleic acid | store and transmit hereditary, or genetic information. |
| Lipids | used to store energy, as part of biological membrane, or waterproof coverings. |
