Codon A sequence of three nucleotides that together form a unit of genetic code in a DNA or RNA molecule.
tRNA One of a class of RNA molecules that transports amino acids to ribosomes for incorporation into a polypeptide undergoing synthesis. Also called transfer RNA .
Anticodon A sequence of three nucleotides forming a unit of genetic code in a transfer RNA molecule, corresponding to a complementary codon in messenger RNA.
RNA Acts as a messenger carrying instructions from DNA for controlling the synthesis of proteins.
Transcription
RNA Polymerase An enzyme that synthesizes the formation of RNA from a DNA template during transcription. A polymerase that catalyzes the synthesis of RNA from a DNA or RNA template.
