Genectics
| Term | Definition |

| Phenotype | The observable characteristic that is expressed or seen when two genes are combined. |
| Homozygous | The organism that has two the same alleles for traits. |
| Dominant | The trait that is seen most often when pairing organisms. |
| Genotype | Two letter symbol (YY) that shows an organisms allele pairs. |
| Punnet Squares | Used to make it easier to keep track of possible offspring traits. |
| Heterozygous | Organism that has two different alleles for traits. |
| Genetics | Study of how traits are inherited from generation to generation. |
| Recessive | Trait that is seen less often or masked by another trait. |
| albinism | a person or animal having a congenital absence of pigment in the skin and hair (which are white) and the eyes (which are typically pink) |
| allels | Alternative form that a single gene may have for a particular trait. |
| pedigree | the record of descent of an animal, showing it to be purebred. |
| cystic fibrosis | wa hereditary disorder affecting the exocrine glands. It causes the production of abnormally thick mucus, leading to the blockage of the pancreatic ducts, intestines, and bronchi and often resulting in respiratory infection. |
