| coniferous | A group of trees and shrubs that produce cones. The cones carry their seeds. Have evergreen leaves. |
| deciduous | Trees and shrubs that shedding their leaves annually and bears new fresh leaves . |
| monocot | Is a flowering plant that have one cotyledon in the seed. |
| dicot | Is a flowering plant that have two cotyledon in the seed. |
| dormancy | Occur when a tree or plant get in a state of minimal metabolic activity with cessation of growth, either as a reaction to adverse conditions or as part of an organism's normal annual rhythm. |
| photosynthesis | plants use carbon dioxide, water, and certain inorganic salts are converted into carbohydrates using energy from the sun and chlorophyll. Oxygen is release in the process. |
| pistil | female part of a flower that consists of the stigma, style, and ovary. |
| pollen | fine powdery substance that comes from the male part of flowers. |
| respiration | plants absorb free molecules of oxygen (O2) and use them to create water, carbon dioxide, and energy, |
| stamen | The pollen-producing reproductive organ of a flower, usually consisting of a filament and an anther. |
| transpiration | plants for the purpose or releasing energy capture through photosynthesis and stored within the plant. |
| tropism | The turning or bending movement of an organism or a part toward or away from an external stimulus, such as light, heat, or gravity. |
