Respiration

TermDefinition
Glycolysis the process by which glucose is broken down into pyruvic acid
Aerobic Respiration a process that uses oxygen to break down glucose, producing a form of chemical energy
Pyruvic Acid the product of glycolysis
Aerobic means "with air." This term is usually used in biology when talking about respiration.
Krebs Cycle a continuing series of reactions in cellular respiration
Electron Transport Chain The passing of electrons during photosynthesis takes place through this
Fermentation the breakdown of materials through anaerobic respiration. The breakdown of these materials produces energy
Anaerobic means "no oxygen." Fermentation is an example of this type of process.
