Mediastinum Central region separating the 2 lungs
Viscera The internal organs in the main cavities of the body, especially in the abdomen

Organ System Composed of several organs working together to preform a complex function
Histology Study of Tissue
Connective Tissue Supporting and Protecting tissue in the body structure
Organ Composed of several different types of tissue that work as a unit to perform special functions
Frontal Plane Divides the body from front to back
Sagittal Plane Divides the body form left to right
Epithelial Tissue found throughout the body used as internal lining for organs or outer skin
Anatomic Position Facing forward, palms facing forward, arms and your side, eyes looking straight ahead
Cytology Study of cells
Transverse Divides the body from top to bottom
Nervous Tissue Forms a network of nerves throughout the entire body
Muscle Tissue Produces movement in the body through contraction of shortening of length
