cell cycle repeating sequence of cellular growth and division during the life of an organism
interphase a period between two mitotic or meiotic divisions during which the cell grows, copies its DNA, and synthesizes protein

cytokinesis the division of the cytoplasm of the cell; cytokinesis follows the division the division of the cell's nucleus by mitosis or meiosis
cancer a condition in which the cells begin dividing at an uncontrollable rate and become invasive
