Clone A genetically identical organism.
Transgenic of, pertaining to, or containing a gene or genes transferred from another species.
DNA Fingerprint the use of a DNA probe for the identification of an individual, as for the matching of genes from a forensic sample with those of a criminal suspect.
Plasmid Closed loop of DNA in bacteria.
Genomics Study of genomes
Gene Therapy Replacement, addition or deletion of defective gene into genome to treat desease.

Recombinant DNA DNA that contains genes from more that one organism.

Gel Electrophoresis Electrical current is used to separate DNA fragments from each other by size.
Bioinformatics Use of computer databases to organize and analyze biological data.
Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Produces millions of copies of DNA sequences quickly (Amplifies)
Primer Short strand of DNA that acts as a starting point for a new strand.
