cross mating of two organiams

chromosome long, continuous thread of DNA that consists of numerous genes and regulatory information.
dihybrid cross, or mating, between organisms involving two pairs of contrasting traits
genotype collection of all of an organism's genetic information that codes for traits
genome all of an organism's genetic material
homologous chromosomes that have the same lent, appearance, and copies of genes, although the alleles may differ
monohybrid cross, or mating between organisms that involves only one pair of contrasting traits
purebred type of organisms whose ancestors are genetically uniform
recessive allele that is not expressed unless two copies are present in an organism's genotype
incomplete dominance heterozygous phenotype that is a blend of the two homozygous phenotypes.
codominance heterozygous genotype that equally expresses the traits from both alleles.
carrier organsim whose genome contains a gene for a certain trait or disease that is not expressed in the organism's phenotype.
sex-linked genes gene that is located on a sex chromosomes
polygenic trait that is produced by two or more genes.
epistasis albinism
pedigree family tree
karyotype image of all of the chromosomes in a cell.
law of segregation inherit two copies of genes.
law of independent assortment inherit separtely
