Cell Transport

TermDefinition
Semi-pereable the ability to allow some thing to pass through while preventing others from passing through.
Diffusion the movement of molecules from an area of more crowded to an area of less crowded
Osmosis the movement of water across molecules
Equilibrium when molecules are equally spread out and they move at equal rates in and out of the cell
Passive Transport movement across a cell membrane that requires NO energy
Active Transport movement across a cell membrane that requires energy
Endocytosis when large molecules, such as bacteria and proteins, enter cell
Exocytosis when large molecules, such as wastes exit cell
