What was Joseph Priestlys conclusion? 1) PLants use water/light 2) Plants make organic matter 3) Plants affect the air.
What was Dr. Melvin Calvins conclusion? determined that photosynthesis is a series of steps rather than one reaction that happened.
What experiment did Dr. Melvin Calvin do? he exposed the alage to radio active oxygen.
What is a heterotroph? They need to search for their energy.
What did Dr. Melvin Calvin predict? that stored up oxygen ( equation for photosynthesis) would end up somewhere else in the reaction.
Where does photosynthesis take place? grana of the thylakoid of the chloroplast.
In photosynthesis you create___ for energy? NADPH and ATP
What happens in photosynthesis? when ATP breaks a phosphate bond, the bond release provides energy to the system.
What is the main type of chlorophyll? A.
What is chlorophyll b? 1) absorbs light energy 2) Helps the process of photosynthesis 3) Yellow-green pigment.
What is chlorophyll a? main catalyst for the process of photosynthesis. ( blue-green pigment)
What is photosynthesis? organisms that can use sunlight or chemicals to make their energy.
What is an autotroph? captures light energy and converts it into chemical energy. (glucose)
What is cellular respiration? break down of glucose with the release of energy. (ATP)

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
