TermDefinition
DNA molecules that contain the information that determines the traits that living things inherits
Chromosomes One of the structures in the nucleus that contains DNA
Cell Cycle the life cycle of a cell- interphase, mitosis, and cytokinesis
Interphase part of the cell cycle which the cell is not dividing
Mitosis The part of the cell cycle which the nucleus divides.
Cytokinesis The division of the parent cells ctysoplasm
Homologous Cromosomes in body cells; found in pairs that have the same structure and size
Meiosis The type of cell division that produces sex cells
Asexual Reproduction when one organism produces offspring identical to itself
Sexual Reproduction when two parents each contribute sex cells to a new organism
