| Cell Cyle | life cycle of eukaryotic cells |
| Interphase | where cell i snot dividing in cycle. |
| Mitosis | part of cycle where nucleus is dividing |
| Cytokinesis | division of parents cytoplasm |
| Homologous Chromosomes | pairs of chromosomes with the same genes |
| Meiosis | cell division that produces haploid sex cells (egg/sperm) |
| Asexual reproduction | one organism that produces identical offspring |
| Sexual reproduction | each parent contributes a sex cell to offspring |
| Fertilization | when egg is fertilized by sperm |
| Heredity | passing of genetic material from parent to offspring |
| Gene | segments of DNA that hold instructions for certain characteristics |
| Allele | different versions of genes |
| genotype | combination of alleles ( AA, aa, Aa ) |
| phenotype | physical traits |
| dominant | trait that shows |
| recessive | characteristic that will fade in first generation |
| incomplete dominance | characteristics blend |
| codominance | you can see both characteristics |
| Punnet sqaure | graphic used to predict possible children |
| probability | mathematic chance of something occuring |
| ratio | expression that compares 2 qualities |
| pedigreee | occurrence of trait through generations |
| Nucleotide | building blocks of DNA |
| replication | makes copies |
| mutation | changes in DNA |
| RNA | DNA copied to a second molecule |
| ribosome | cell organelle made of ribosomal RNA |
