TermDefinition
DNA molecule contains the information that determines the traits that a living thing inherits and needs to live.
Chromosomes In and early stage of cell division, the chromatin is compacted into visible structures. chromatin is compacted into visibstructures
Cell Cycle The life cycle of a eukaryotic cell.
Interphase The part of the cell cycle during which the cell is not dividing.
Mitosis The part of the cell during which the nucleus divides.
Cytokinesis The division of the parents cell's cytoplasm.
Homologous Chromosomes Carrying the same genes.
Meiosis The type of cell division that produces haploid sex cells such as eggs and sperm cells.
Asexual Reproduction One organism produces one or more new new organism that are identical to itself.
Sexual Reproduction Two parents each contribute a sex cell to the new organism.
Fertilization A sperm call and egg cell join together.
