Mitosis

TermDefinition
Mitosis A process of cell division that forms two new cells
Interphase Before mitosis begins, chromosomes are copied
Prophase Chromosomes condense from long strands into rod-like structures
Metaphase Paired chromatids align at the cell’s equator
Anaphase The paired chromatids separate and move to opposite sides of the cell
Telophase A nuclear membrane forms around each set of chromosomes
Cytokinesis The cell pinches in two
Cell Cycle The life cycle of a cell
