Primers are complementary to... The DNA adjacent to the STR
STR = Short tandem repeat
The temperatures in the cycle = 95, 55, 70
Additional primers are used to determine Gender
at 95 degrees.... DNA separates into two strands
at 55 degrees... Primers attach at the start of the STR sequence
at 70 degrees... DNA polymerase attaches and replicates the strand
each target STR has a length of 4 bases
