Cell parts and their functions

Ribosomes Makes proteins
Endoplasmic Reticulum Produces, processes and transports proteins and lipds
Golgi Complex Packages and distributes materials
Vacuole Stores fluid, enzymes, or nutrients
Chloroplasts Where photosynthesis occurs; the production of glucose and oxygen from sunlight, water and carbon dioxide
Lysosome Digests and eats cell wastes, organelles and foreign invaders
Cell Membrane A barrier to control what enters or exits the cell
Cell Wall Provides support and protection to the cell
Cytoplasm Contains all of the organelles inside of the cell
Nucleus Protects the cells genetic material (DNA)
Cytoskeleton A network of protein filaments that give shape and support to cells, also assists with cell division and the movement of cells.
Mitochondrion Where cellular respiration occurs to convert food into energy (ATP) for all life processes.
