Heterotroph Is a animal that can make its own food.
Autotroph Is a plant that makes its own food off of photosynthesis.
Calvin Cycle Makes glucose that the plants needs for photosynthesis.
Pigment Is a material that changes the color of reflected or transmitted light.
Light reactions First stage of photosynthesis, and is a process where plants capture light.
Chloroplast Conduct photosynthesis for plants.
Thylakoid Is where light reactions take place.
Glucose Sugar and helps produce photosynthesis.
Chlorophyll Molecule in the chloroplast that absorbs sunlight so the plant can produce photosynthesis.
Stroma Liquid inside chloroplast that holds it together and helps make photosynthesis.
ATP Used as an energy carrier in cells.
NADPH Reduced form of NADP.
Grana A stack like structure in plant chloroplasts that contain chlorophyll; the site of photosynthesis.
Catabolic The complex breakdown of molecules into simpler ones, often resulting in the releasing of energy.
Anabolic To build up energy. Constructive Metabolism.
Metabolism Refers to all the physical and chemical processes in the body that require energy.
H2O Water.
CO2 Carbon Dioxide.
C6H12O6 Glucose/Sugar.
O2 Oxygen.
