| Heterotroph | consumer/consumes food |
| Metabolism | all the chemical reactions in a cell |
| Catabolic | breaking things down-releasing energy |
| Anabolic | building things up- using energy |
| stroma | fluid filled space surrounding the grana |
| ATP | Adenosine triphosphate |
| Glucose | the products of photosynthesis. Food and large energy storage for plants |
| NADPH | energy carrier molecule (Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate) |
| Calvin Cycle | the process of carbon dioxide entering then leaving as glucose |
| Thylakoid membranes | location of light dependent reactions |
| Chemiosmosis | production of ATP in cellular respiration |
