Southern Blotting

What is the DNA transferred onto (through absorption)? A nylon membrane
What happens to the double strands of DNA once they have been absorbed? They split into single strands
What does the DNA probe bind to? Fragments on the single strands that have the complementary sequence
What can you do to a DNA probe to make it visible? Put a fluorescent marker on it or make it radioactive
