Mickeys cell process

Homeostasis The maintenance of a constant internal state in a changing environment
photosynthesis The process in which plants use water sunlight and carbon dioxide to make food
Cellular Respiration The process in which cells use oxygen to produce energy from food
mitosis In eukaryotic cells a process of cell division that forms two new nuclei each of which has the same number of chromosomes
passive transport the movement of substances through the cell membrane without the use of energy
active transport the movement of substances through the cell membrane that requires the cell to use energy
diffusion the movement of particles from a high concentration to a low concentration
osmosis the diffusion of water through a semi-permeable membrane
endocytosis the process by which the cell membrane and encloses the particle in a vesicle to bring the particle in the cell
exocytosis The process in which a cell releases a particle in a vesicle that then moves to the cell surface and fuses with the cell membrane
xylem Is the tissue in a plant cell that transports water and minerals to the roots.
phoelem Is the tissue that transports food made within plant cells.
high concentration Having concentrated amount of something or a high amount.
low concentration Having a low amount something or spread out.
semi-permeable Allowing certain substances to pass through but not others
vesicle sacs formed from pieces of the cell membrane.
