| Cell Cycle | The sequence of growth and division of the cell. |
| Centriole | Parts of the cell that are responsible for reproduction. |
| Centromere | The point on a chromosome by which it is attached to a spindle fiber during cell division. |
| Chromatin | What chromosomes are composed of. |
| Chromosome | The part of the cell that contains genetic material. |
| Cytokinesis | The cytoplasmic division of a cell at the end of mitosis or meiosis. |
| Interphase | The resting phase between successive mitotic divisions of a cell. |
| Metaphase | The second stage of cell division, between prophase and anaphase, during when the chromosomes become attached to the spindle fibers. |
| Mitosis | A type of cell division that results in two daughter cells each having the same number and kind of chromosomes as the parent nucleus. |
| Organ | A part of an organism that is self-contained and has its own function. |
| Organ System | A group of parts of an organism that has its own function. |
| Prophase | The first phase of cell division when the chromosome becomes visible. |
| Sister Chromatids | The two halves of the doubled structure. |
| Spindle | A group of small tubes formed when a cell divides. |
| Telophase | The final phase of cell division in which the chromatids or chromosomes move to opposite ends of the cell and two nuclei are formed. |
| Tissue | A structure of connected items. |
| Cancer | A disease caused by uncontrollable cell division. |
