Active Transport Movement of molecules from low density to higher density, requiring energy.
Chloroplast Cell structure found in plants where photosynthesis occurs
Diffusion Movement of the molecules from areas of high density to lower density
Eukaryotes Cells that have a true nucleus
Golgi apparatus cell structure that packages materials to be moved out of the cell
Hypertonic A solution where the concentration of dissolved material outside the cell is higher than inside, causing the cell to shrink.
Hypotonic A solution where the concentration of the dissolved material inside the cell is higher than outside, causing the cell to swell
Microscopic Too small to be seen with only the eye
Mitochondria Cell structure the make energy (ATP) from food
Nucleus Cell structure that contains the genetic material (DNA)
Organelle one of the small structures in the cell with a special job
Osmosis movement of water from ares of high density to lower density
Plasma Membrane Covers a cells surface and controls what gets in and out.
prokaryotes Cells that do not have a true nucleus
Ribosome Cell structure where protein are made
