Active Transport Movement of molecules from lw density to higher density, requring energy
Chloroplast Cell structure found in plants where photosynthesis occurs
Diffusion movement of molecules from areas of high density to lower density
Eukaryotes Cells that have a true nucleus
Golgi Apparatus Cell structure that packages materials to be moved out of the cell
Hypertonic A solution where the concentration of dissloed materials outside the cell is higher than inside, causing the cell to shrink
Hypotonic A solution where the concenctration of dissolved materials insude the cell is higher than outside, causing the cell to swell
Micscropic To small to be seen with only the eye
Mitochondria Cell structure that makes energy (ATP) from food
Nucleus Cell structure that contains the genetic material (DNA)
Organelle One of the small structires in the cell with a special job
Osmosis Movement of water from areas of high density of lower density
Plasma Membrance Covers a cell's surface and controls what gets in and out
Prokaryotes Cells that do not have a true nucleus
Ribosome Cell Structure when proteins are made
