Protein Step 1 DNA in the nucleus is copied into a form called RNA, which leaves the nucleus through the nuclear pores
Protein Step 2 The RNA leaves the nucleus and enters the Rough Endoplasmic reticulum.
Protein Step 3 The ribosomes read the RNA code and use that info to construct a Protein, one piece at a time.
Protein Step 4 The newly built protein leaves the ER and travels to the Golgi Apparatue
Protein Step 5 The golgi packages the protein so that it can be safely shipped out of the cell.
Protein Step 6 The packaged protein leaves the Golgi, and moves out of the cell through the cell membrane
Lipid Step 1 Enzymes in the SMOOTH ER take basic chemicals from the cytoplasm
Lipid Step 2 Enzymes assemble the lipids (fat) into molecules combined with phosphorus
Lipid Step 3 From the smooth ER, the phosphorus-lipid molecule is inserted directly into the cell membrane
