Boiling Point The point where water boils
Melting Point the temperature at which a given solid will melt
Freezing Point The point at which a liquid turns into a solid
Specific Heat The amount of heat required to raise the temperature of 1g of a substance 1 degree Celsius
Imtermolculer Force Forthat act between stable molecules or between functional groups of macromolcules
Molecule A group of atoms bonded together, representing the smallest fundamental unit of a chemical compound that can take part in a chemical
Cohesion The action or fact of forming a united whole
Adhesion Area of contact btween unklike bodies that acts to hold them together
Evaporation The process by which a liquid changes into a gas
Density a property of matter representing the mass per unit of volume
Fresh Water Water that is not salty and has litlle or no taste, color, or smell. Most Lakes and rivers are made up of fresh water
Condensation Water vapor becoming a liquid
Precipitation Any type of liquid or solid that falls
Water Vapor Water in the form of a gas
Surface Tension The result of an inward pulol among the molecules of a liquid that brings the molcules on the surface closer together
Universional Solvent Water due to its polarity and ability to dissolve may different solutes
Solute The component in a solution dissolved in the solvent

Fahrenheit Scale of temperature, freeze at 32
Refaction The bending or turning of light waves when it passes through water
Reflection Projuction bakc an image through light without absorbing it
Ion An atom or molecule with a net electic charge due to the loss or gain of one or more electrons
Cation An ion or group of ions that have a postitive charge
Anion An ion or group of ions that have a negative charge
Eletroyole A chemical compound that breaks into separate ions when it is dissolved or molten to produce an elctrically conductive product
Conductivity Degree at which specific material conducts electicity
Polarity A molcule with a net dipole as an result of the opposing charges
Controled Varible Things in experiment that can controled
Independent Varibole Thing that stays the same thoughout the whole experiment
Dependent Varibole Varibole that depends on the outcome of experiment
