| Conductivity | The ability to connduct or transmit heat, elecricity, or sound |
| Cation | An ion or group of ions that have a positive charge |
| Anion | An ion or group of ions that have negative charge |
| Electrolyte | A chemical compound that breaks into seperate ions when it is dissolved or molten to produce an electically conductive product |
| Refraction | the bending or turning of light waves when it passes through the water |
| Reflection | Projecting back an image through light without absorbing it |
| Solute | The component in a slution dissolved in the solvent |
| Ion | An atom or molecule with a net electric charge due to the loss or gain of one or more electrons |
| Polar | A molecule with a net dipole as a result of opposing charges |
| Boiling point | the point where water turns to vapor |
| Frezzing point | the point at which a liquid turns to a soild |
| Specific heat | The heat required to raise the temperature of the unit mass of a given substance be a given amount |
| Melting point | the temperature at which a given soliid will melt |
