| Organism | An individiual form of life, such as plant,animal and Bacteria. |
| Unicellar | Having or consisting of one cell. |
| Homeostatics | The ability or tendency of an organism or cell to maintain internal equilibrium by adjusting its physiological processes. |
| Binomial Nomenclature | a system for naming plants and animals by means of two Latin names |
| Species | A fundamental category of taxonomic classification, ranking below a genus or subgenus and consisting of related organisms capable of interbreeding |
| Genus | Biology any of the taxonomic groups into which a family is divided and which contains one or more species |
| Dichotomous Key | a key used to identify a plant or animal in which each stage presents descriptions of two distinguishing characters, with a direction to another stage in the key, until the species is identified |
| Cladogram | A branching, treelike diagram in which the endpoints of the branches represent specific species of organisms. It is used to illustrate phylogenetic relationships and show points at which various species have diverged from common ancestral forms |
