Science Is an organized way of using evidence to learn about the natural world
Observation the process of gathering information about events or processe in a careful, orderly way
Data The information gathered from obervations
Inference A logical interpretation based on prior kn owledge or experience
Hypothesis A proposed scientific explanation for a set of observation
Spontaneous generation Hypothesis (dispoven) stating that life could arise from nonliving matter
Controlled experiment A test of the effect of a single variable by changing it while keeping all other variables the same
Manipulated variable Factor in an experiment that a scientist purposely changes
