The History of Science
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Observations | pieces of information that are obtained from the human senses |
| Hypothesis | a possible explanation or conclusion about an observation. They are usually developed once a scientist has made an observation of an event |
| Philosophy | the study of nonscientific ideas proposed by individuals who explain the world by merely thinking about observations |
| Properties | these are characteristics and usually refer to chemistry |
| Atom | the smallest part of matter that can occur without changing the properties of that matter |
| Alchemists | pseudo-scientists from various countries that practiced somewhat mystical activities in which they believe they could recombine various elements to create magical results |
| Replicate | to reproduce or repeat |
| Empirical Evidence | anything that is measurable or observable |
