passive transport diffusion across a membrane needing only the random motion of molecules
diffusion the net movement of the particles of a substance from wher they are most concentrated to where it is least concentrated
cell basic unit of structure for all organisms; has a nucleus and cell membrane/wall
active transport movement of molecules across a membrane needing energy to be used by the cell to make it happen
osmosis passive transport of WATER across a selectively permeable membrane
