| cytoplasm | gelatin like material found inside the cell. Used for support and transport. Contains salts and minerals and organic molecules |
| mitochondria | powerhouse of the cell that produces ATP (energy) using a process called respiration |

| golgi apparatus | processing and packaging organelle of the cell |

| vacuoles | storage structure. stores water in plant cells and waste and food in animal cells |
| chloroplasts | in this organ sunlight, water and carbon dioxide are converted to sugar in a process called photosynthesis |
