Elements of Design

TermDefinition
Design The whole process used to develop or make a project. The result of the process.
Function How a design works (main purpose)
construction Includes materials and structure or how the materials are put together.
aesthetics Beauty. A pleasing look.
line Most basic element of design. It is connecting 2 dots.
form The shape of objects.
space The area around and inside a form.
mass The amount of pattern and or objects in a space. Amount of crowding in a space.
texture The way something feels or looks like it feels.
