Animal Growth

| 1. adaptation | A body part or behavior that helps an organism meet its needs in the environment |
| 2. shelter | A place where animals are protected from other animals or weather |
| 3. mimicry | An adaptation in which an animal looks very much like another animal or object. |
| 4. camouflage | Animal's color or pattern that helps it blend in with its surroundings |
| 5. environment | Everything that surrounds and affects an animal, living and non-living |
| 6. instinct | A behavior that an animal begins life with. |
| 7. climate | The average rainfall and temperature of an area over many years |
| 8. migration | The movement of a group of animals to one region and back again |
| 9. oxygen | One of the many gases in the air |
| 10. hibernation | A period in which an animal goes into a long, deep "sleep" |
| 11. metamorphosis | The process of change; for example from an egg to an adult butterfly |
