What are four viral diseases? chicken pox, small pox, measles, aids, rabies, colds, polio, mumps, hepatitis A, shingles
How do pathogens affect their host? causes tissue destruction and forms toxins
How are diseases spread? droplet, contact, contamination, wounds, vectors, immune carrier, sexually transmitted
What are the three structural defenses against disease? skin, mucous membrane, tears
What are the three cellular defenses against disease? phagocytic cells, lymphatic cells, fever
What is the body's chemical defense against disease? antibodies
What are four medical controls of diseases? chemotherapy, antibiotics, antiseptics, removal of pathogen, rest and good nutrition
