Lipid a macromolecule that stores energy and is found in cell membranes phospholipid, cholesterol, waxes, oils
Macromolecule a molecule made up of two or more smaller building blocks (monmers), most often a polymer
Monomer a building block of a polymer, or macromolecule
Monosaccharide a building block (monomer) of carbohydrates glucose, fructose, galactose
Nucleic Acid an information storing and transferring molecule DNA, RNA
Nucleotide a building block (monomer) of a nucleic acid; made up of a sugar, a phosphate group, and a nitrogenous base
Polymer a macromolecule made up of multiple monomers (building blocks)
Polysaccharide a carbohydrate made up of three or more monomers (monosaccharides) starch, glycogen
Protein a group of molecules that provide structure and enzymes to life
Saturated a fatty acid that does not have any double or triple bonds between carbon atoms
Unsaturated a fatty acid that does have double or triple bonds between its carbon atoms
Amino Acid the 20 building blocks (monomer)of proteins tryptophan, leucine, glycine
