Organelles Tiny Organs inside cells
Cell Wall Found only in plants. Outside the cell membrane; More rigid than the cell membrane
Mitochondria Supplies cell with energy. It’s like a battery
Cell membrane The outside of the cell that separates inside from outside
Ribosome They build proteins by putting together amino acids
Endoplasmic Reticulum The Conveyor Belt; Ribosomes put proteins here so that they can be taken to other parts of the cell
Vacuole Storage container found in plants. Stores extra water and other stuff
Lyosomes Digestive Packets.They travel around cell and digest dead cell parts and food particles
Golgi Complex UPS Packaging Centers. Products from ER are sent here to be shipped outside the cell
Cytoskeleton Gives the cell support and shape
Chloroplasts Found only in plants. They collect the suns energy and make food (sugar) and oxygen
Cytoplasm The jelly-like substance inside the cell
Semipermeable Type of membrane that allows some substance in and keeps others out
Iodine is a smaller molecule. Starch is too big Why was the iodine allowed to pass through the baggie but the starch wasn't
Chloroplasts, Cell Wall, Central Vacuole Organelles only found in plants (3 of them)
Lysosome Organelle found only in animal cells
Tissue Two or more cells
Organ Two or more tissues working together
Organ System Two or more organs working together
Organism All the organ systems working together
Prokaryote A bacterial cell is a
Eukaryote An animal and plant cell are a
Nucleus Where is the DNA located in a Eukaryotic cell?
