| Osmosis | The diffussion of water across the cell membrane |
| The solution distilled water | 100% water cells placed in this type of water will gain water and swell up -animals cells will burst - plant cells can prevent cells from bursting |
| Salt water solution | Cells placed in saaltwater will lose water and will shrink |
| Passive transport | Difussion and osmosis and other methods of transport that do not require energy - molecule move from high concentration to a low concentration |
