QuestionAnswer
What does ATP stand for ? and what is it ? Adenine TriPhosphate. Is a source of energy for cell activities.
What's ADP ? It's formed when one phosphate group is released.
Define Photosynthesis. is converting sunlight energy into chemical energy.
What's the photosynthesis formula ? CO +H O -----> C H O +O 2 2 light 6 12 6 2
Define Cellular Respiration. is the converting of glucose into ATP
What's the Cellular Respiration formula ? C H O +O ----> CO +H O+ATP 6 12 6 2 2 2
Aerobic Respiration it requires oxygen (creates MOST ATP molecules)
Anaerobic Respiration does not require oxygen (creates ONLY 2 ATP molecules)
2 Types of Anaerobic Respiration Alcoholic Fermentation and Lactic Acid Fermentation
Alcoholic Fermentation is performed by yeast and bacteria.
Lactic Acid Fermentation is performed by muscle cells; when not enough oxygen is available it causes muscle soreness.
