| organism | scientific word for a living thing |
| biotic factor | al living or dead organism in an ecosystem (ex animals, plants, bacteria) |
| abiotic factor | nonliving part of the ecosystem (light, soil, temperature, oxygen and water) |
| light | Electromagnetic radiation that can be perceived by the human eye. It is made up of electromagnetic waves with wavelengths between 4 × 10-7 and 7 × 10-7 meters. |
