basic ecology terms

Biology Bio-life Ology-study of Study of living things
Ecology The study of living things and their interactions with each other and others.
Organism A living thing
Habitat Enviornment that provides the things a specific organisms to live, grow, and reproduce.
Biotic factor The part of a habitat that are living, or once living, and interact with an organism.
Abiotic factor The nonliving part of an organism's habitat.
Species A group of organisms that can mate with each other and produce offsprings that can also mate and reproduce.
Population All the members of one species living in a particular area.
Community All the different populations that live together in an area.
Ecosystem The community of organisms that live in a paticular area, along with their nonliving enviornment .
