Cells and Cell Parts

Define Cell. is the basic unit of all living things.
What is the cell organization ? Cells->tissues->organs->organ system
Define Prokaryotes. they are cells without membrane bound structures.
Define Eukaryotes. they are cells with membrane bound structures.
Define Organelles. they are much smaller parts of a eukaryotic cell that have specific function.
Plasma Membrane (Cell Membrane) it controls what enters and leaves a cell.
Cell Wall an inflexible barrier that protects and gives plant cells support.
Nucleus it controls the center of the cell- contains the directions to make proteins.
Ribosomes they are the sites of protein assembly.
Vacuoles they are used for temporary storage of materials or water.
Mitochondria it converts glucose into ATP
What Does ATP stand for ? it means Adenine TriPhosphate; is energy that can be used by the cell.
