atherosclerosis Clogging of the arteries
veins Vessels that carry blood into the heart
diaphragm Muscle that controls breathing
valves Prevents backflow of blood
atria Upper chambers of heart
pharynx Food and air tube
circulatory System that transports oxygen and nutrients
ventricles Lower chambers of the heart
pulmonary Right side of heart, lacks oxygen
capillaries Connects arteries and veins
trachea Windpipe
systemic Left side of heart, contains oxygen
nicotine Drug, leads to lung cancer
septum Muscle, separates right and left sides of heart
larynx Voicebox
alveoli Location of gas exchange
bronchi Tube branches leading from trachea to lungs
