Ecosystem A group of different abiotic and biotic things living together
Producer An orgnism that makes its own food
Consumer A biotic thing that gets nutrients from other biotic things
Herbivore An animal that only eats plants
Carnivore An animal that only eats meat
Omnivore An animal that eats both plants and animals
Scavenger An animal that eats dead things
Carrying Capacity The highest number in which and environment can hold organisms
Predator An animal that hunts
Prey The animal that is hunted
Renewable Resource A natural resource that can be renewed
Nonrenewable Resource A natural resource that takes hundreds of years to be renewed or come back
Soil Dirt on the ground
Groundwater Water that comes from the ground
Permeable How much liquid that can pass through dirt or soil
Impermeable Soil that liquid cannot pass through
Aquifer An underground place where clean water can be found
Zone of saturation Place underground or underwater where there is clean and freshwater and air
Divide A mountain or hill that splits up a water source
Drainage Basin Natural basin where rain water can be found
Watershed Natural dome where water is placed after rain or near a lake/river
