| antibodies | Memory cells of pathogens |
| vaccination | Injection of a weakened or dead pathogen, creates antibodies |
| antibiotic | Medication that kills bacterial infections |
| virus | Pathogen that antibiotics can't kill |
| humoral immunity | Specific defense in which plasma B cells create antibodies |
| passive immunity | Immunity passed from Mom in utero |
| active immunity | Immunity developed from your own body |
| respiratory system | Organ system responsible for gas exchange |
| circulatory system | Organ system that transport oxygen, nutrients and waste |
| nervous system | Response system |
| homeostasis | Stable internal environment |
| feedback loops | Process in which homeostasis is maintained |
| neurotransmitters | Chemical released between neurons to continue message transmittal |
| sensory neuron | Carries impulses from body to brain |
| interneuron | Connects motor and sensory neurons, found in brain and spinal cord |
| motor neuron | Carries impulses from brain to body, movement |
