trimester is a period during which a fertilized egg grows and develops into a human being inside the mother's body.
conception the union of a sperm and egg cell.
zygote single-celled organism that is formed when the separate nuclei of sperm and egg combine into one nucleus
prenatal development is all development that occurs between conception and birth.
blastocyst a hollow ball of cells that implants itself in the uterus
placenta a special organ formed during pregancy that functions as the inter-change between the developing baby and its mother
umbilical cord a flexible cord that contains blood vessels and connects the placenta to the developing baby
