Insertion of Pectoralis Major intertubercular sulcus and greater tubercle of humerus
Action of Pectoralis Major prime mover of arm flexion; rotates medially and adducts the arm
Origin of Pectoralis Minor anterior surface of ribs 3-5
Insertion of Pectoralis Minor coracoid process of scapula
Action of Pectoralis Minor moves scapula forward and downward; moves the ribcage superiorly
Origin of External Oblique outer surface of lower eight ribs
Insertion of External Oblique into linea alba
Action of External Oblique flex vertebral column and compress abdominal wall; aid in trunk rotation and lateral flexion
Origin of Internal Oblique lumbar fascia, iliac crest and inguinal ligament
Insertion of Internal Oblique linea alba, pubic crest, last 3 ribs
Action of Internal Oblique flex vertebral column and compress abdominal wall; aid in trunk rotation and lateral flexion
Origin of Rectus Abdominis pubic crest and symphysis
Insertion of Rectus Abdominis xiphoid process and costal cartilage of ribs 5-7
Action of Rectus Abdominis flex and rotate lumbar region of vertebral column
